Reverse IP Lookup: Find Domains on the Same Server

How reverse IP / domains-on-IP works, when shared hosting reveals neighbors, and how to run a free reverse IP check on PINIP.net.

What reverse IP lookup means

Reverse IP lookup (also called domains-on-IP or shared hosting discovery) answers: “Which hostnames resolve to this address?” It is the inverse of Domain to IP.

On PINIP, use Domains on IP (same engine as Server IP Lookup) to inspect hosting IPs and list co-hosted websites when data is available.

When neighbor domains appear

  • Shared hosting: Many customer sites share one public IP — reverse IP is most useful here.
  • Dedicated / cloud VM: Often a single primary site; the list may be empty or tiny.
  • CDN / anycast: Huge, noisy neighbor sets that do not imply related ownership.

Responsible use

Reverse IP is a reconnaissance aid for admins, researchers, and SEO analysts. It is not a guarantee of ownership, malware status, or physical co-location. Always pair it with ASN, rDNS, and the full IP Lookup context.

FAQ

Why is my reverse IP list empty?

Residential IPs, single-tenant servers, and many cloud instances do not expose a public co-host list.

Is reverse IP the same as PTR / rDNS?

No. PTR is one DNS name for an IP. Domains-on-IP aggregates hostnames that point to the IP from forward DNS datasets.
