Most public websites publish an A record (IPv4) and often an AAAA record (IPv6). These are separate addresses on the server or CDN — one does not magically become the other.
- IPv4 → IPv6 mapped:
::ffff:x.x.x.xembeds an IPv4 inside IPv6 format. - Native IPv6: cannot be reduced to one IPv4 without DNS or application context.
- Use Domain to IP to see both families for a hostname, then Domains on IP for co-hosted sites.
